Seen at her last show rocking out in sheer black tights beneath a foxy red jumpsuit, lead singer Louise Barnell, AKA “Lou," puts on a sensational show alongside her eclectically-composed band, Royal Gala. It’s hard to take your eyes off Lou as you watch her freely prance around the stage, looking like a Rockette dancer who’s madly gone off routine, occasionally stopping to strike poses that smashingly resemble a 1950’s blonde pinup girl.
The remainder of the band is truly a sight in itself as well. Featuring a mini-brass ensemble composed of trumpet, trombone and sax players, Royal Gala breeds electro-ska beats combined with a mix of funk and jazz rhythms that are bound to get you up on your drunken feet dancing.
If you can make it out to the Nottingham area on July 28th, head over to The Maze to watch Lou’s theatrical dance moves as you listen to her boldly belted lyrics alongside Gala’s contagious rhythms.
